My Body is Trying to Die.

What? Is that too dramatic for you? In my opinion it's nothing but the truth. If it were up to my throat and joints at this precise moment I would fall over dead. They are trying to kill me. Here are a few scenes from inside my throat....

It's becoming increasingly difficult for me to cope with.... this raging inferno of death. What do I do? Drink hot tea, enough to drown a whale. Eat raw garlic and onions, enough to drown Billy's olfactory senses in misery. And I wait it out and fight the good fight. Oh... and I also bitch and complain quite a lot as well (which is actually part of fighting the good fight in my mind.) So there you have it. I have the flu. It makes me angry to no end.

It may be a day or two before I post again. But that is probably best for you all anyway. See you on the other side.

I am such a fan, but haven't been here in so long, but now that you have the flu, I'm here honey and I'll stop lurking! I had it and thought I was going to die. The sore throat is just the beginning. Oh my God, you have no idea. The pharmacist told me it was my allergies and that it had caused the tubes in my ears to back up. I was so sick I could barely think. Every one was telling me to get to the doctors, but I couldn't imagine sitting in my doctor's office waiting for attention. I simply wanted to die. The pain was so bad (every where) I couldn't sleep for three or four days (lost count). The pharmacist recommend liquid Benadryl and either Advil or Tylenol every few hours. He said "You can take double the amount, it won't kill you." I sucked on numbing Cepecal (or is it Cepical?) and Halls mentho-lyptus until my body oozed menthol. I don't know what helped. I was so ill one day towards the end, I actually thought I was going to die. I'm not joking. And it's odd, the worse day was the turning point. I got through it and began to feel better. So what you think is the worst, isn't. It's coming. It's two weeks later and I'm still recovering. It feels as if I was hit by a truck. The goal is to keep it out of your lungs. If you can do that, you'll be okay.

Love you dear and good luck.

P.S. I love your blog.

Thanks everyone for your concern... I crept out of bed just long enough to check my email etc.

Today is officially day four and it ain't pretty. Suzanne... it actually does help to know other people have gone through the same hideous experience... and lived to tell.

My brain is mush so that's it for now. Wish me luck that I will be back in a few more days!

Here's something else to try. Open two capsules of acidophilus into your mouth. Try to get the powder in your throat. Do it as often as possible. Don't do it as to cause a coughing fit. Gently, gently. It will help your throat heal.

Take care friend. You will not die. You will live to tell the tale and embrace life. Of this I am sure!
